Sarah is known as ‘Social Fabric’ and is highly experienced at leading, coordinating and delivering inclusive, high-quality participatory art/textile workshops which result in narrative textile pieces which tell a story – printing a social fabric. Sarah has worked with groups in collaboration with Schools, Museums, Theatres and Galleries – she also delivers workshops and CPD’s for adults.
She has also illustrated ‘The Therapeutic Fairy Tale series’ for children's well being (pictured) and co-written a learning manual for education; ‘Rewilding Children’s Imaginations, 99 creative Activities Inspired by Nature and Folktales from Around the World’ published by Taylor Routledge which can also be delivered as workshop sessions.
Since our early days, Artists in Residence has proudly partnered with Sarah Pimenta to deliver over 20 vibrant and memorable projects in schools across London. Sarah guides students to produce stunning banners that showcase her unique style, which she has developed over decades of school practice. Sarah’s banners often embody the school’s values or tackle relevant environmental and social issues such as sustainability, equality and community. She engages students in the artistic process and supports them in expressing their thoughts and emotions. Sarah Pimenta is a precious partner for schools who want to enhance their curriculum and affirm their identity. - Artists In Residence
