I am an experienced freelance arts consultant, artist, and educator with a commitment to fostering creativity and engagement in arts education. Having taught in secondary education (11-18) for 25 years, I have experience in leading mixed ability classes to explore different art techniques. I can provide workshops in printmaking, including lino, engraving, and poly. Painting workshops including watermixable oils; drawing workshops including building confidence in a variety of drawing techniques; and ceramic workshops using air drying clay if you do not have a kiln. I have taught textiles techniques and can provide workshops in appliqué, screen painting and embroidery. I have taught sixth form for many years, helping students with applications to art school, running workshops and portfolio sessions. Students have gained successful entry into all the London art schools, Cambridge and Oxford including both foundation courses and directly onto degrees when appropriate. I still teach part time in a local secondary school, in addition I am part of Carrow House studios, developing my own practice in painting and printmaking and preparing for exhibitions.
Testimonial
Through various projects I have led I have commissioned Stephanie Cubbin to undertake consultancy work in a variety of settings. These have ranged from primary schools through to secondaries and Sixth Form. The work has at times focused on practical artwork, such as printmaking, drawing or ceramic work. These projects have been with pupils in the classroom as well as staff - both specialist and non-specialist art staff. Formal evaluations of Stephanie’s work have always been outstanding and often generated repeat work. Schools judge her work to be value for money.
